I showed it to my daughter before making the dress because she really wanted to wear the brown belt. She said it didn't bother her that the seam dips down below the belt. I love the pattern. Isn't it great to find a pattern that you like well enough to use over and over again. I love your version with the deep V in the back!Janhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04498193066343735261noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8727730397855478331.post-54760188642851419952012-05-12T12:46:44.224-05:002012-05-12T12:46:44.224-05:00Your daughter is so pretty and the dress u made lo...Your daughter is so pretty and the dress u made looks fantastic, the material suits it so well!

I came across your blog after quizzing why the midriff dips at the back and got told by a sewing/blog mate that it's the design of the pattern and not due to my bodice not fitting properly and referred me to PR to find your blog.

I've made this particular bodice 6 times (twice as per view A, twice replacing the skirt with slim skirts, twice replacing skirts with full gathered skirts and adding Peter pan collar) and one recently noticed the odd dipping at the back when wearing skinny belts.

I thought I had a weird fitting issue but turns out I don't :)

I agree with the skirt, that it should be gathered all the way round. I've actually drafted my own full skirts and the full gathering all the way round makes the dress even cuter :)

Love your version and your daughter styling it with the red blazer.
